World Contraception Day, 26 September 2017
Today on World Contraception Day – the annual worldwide campaign to improve awareness of contraception and to enable young people to make informed choices on their sexual and reproductive health, ASHM's International Program takes the opportunity to highlight some of its work that supports the strengthening of Sexual Reproductive Health (SRH) services in our Pacific region.
Many people around the world face limited access to contraception. Sexual and reproductive rights are often under threat, especially in vulnerable populations. We are proud that ASHM’s International Program promotes sexual health and choice in our region. For instance, the Sexual Reproductive Health Integration Project (SRHIP) consortia is supporting the strengthening of SRH services in PNG through integration. Our mentoring projects in the Pacific, such as our Pacific Sexual Health Workers Capacity Building Program, are enabling health care workers in the region to provide comprehensive care for HIV and STIs to key populations.
